Our Keto Baked Jalapeño Poppers Recipe

If you are looking for a tasty keto recipe to try out as a low carb appetizer for that game day party, we have just the one for you!

Cooking time

Ingredients

  • 6 medium jalapeno peppers (sliced lengthwise and seeds removed)

  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)

  • 3 oz cream cheese (softened to room temperature)

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 6 slices cooked bacon (or bacon bits if you need to save time!)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or foil.

  3. Note: Consider wearing kitchen gloves when preparing the jalapeño halves. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Remove seeds. Rinse and pat dry.

  4. In a small bowl, mash together the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese.

  5. Once they are well combined, add the onion and garlic powder to the cheesy filling.

  6. Fill the jalapeno halves with the seasoned, cream cheese filling. Place onto the lined baking sheet.

  7. Crumble each slice of bacon into tiny bits.

  8. Top each jalapeno popper with about 1/2 tablespoon of crumbled bacon. Press the bacon lightly into the stuffed jalapeno filling. Note: If you prefer to wrap them in bacon, use a toothpick to hold it together while they cook.

  9. Bake about 15 minutes, until the peppers are soft and the bacon on top is crispy.

  10. Enjoy! If you don’t eat these all, they reheat beautifully in your air fryer or oven. Avoid the microwave as that will make them mushy.

Low-Carb Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

As another option, we have a keto-friendly jalapeño popper dip that is quick and easy. This keto appetizer can be dumped into a tiny crock and served with veggies. However, your non-keto friends may prefer it with some kind of chip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled

  • 5 jalapeños or 4 oz can diced jalapeño peppers, drained

  • Optional: 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Prepare jalapeños by slicing them in half, hollowing out the seeds, rinsing them, then patting dry. Once that is all done, dice them into tiny pieces. If you prefer, use the prepared ones that come in a can.

  3. Prepare an 8x8 pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.

  4. Mix all ingredients together. Pour the cream cheese mixture into the pan.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  6. Pour into a small crock pot or serve in the pan you baked it in.

What is the Best Way to Remove Seeds from Jalapeños?

Removing the seeds from your jalapeños does not have to be tricky:

  1. Slice the jalapeños in half lenghwise.

  2. Cut off the top and bottom of the pepper.

  3. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and membrane inside the pepper.

  4. Rinse and pat dry before using in recipes.

A Good Dipping Sauce for Keto Jalapeño Poppers?
