Our Story - KetoGoods™


After years of struggling with body image and mental health issues, I was searching everywhere for information regarding diet and emotional health. That’s when I stumbled across keto. I discussed it with a neurologist and gave it a try. Let me tell you: it was HARD. Really hard. Years of eating a diet full of carbs and sugars and now I had to change everything. 

One of the biggest challenges I faced was finding the right alternative sweetener. If you’re at all like me, you’ve struggled with diet and low-sugar foods because they just don’t taste right. I decided to try every sugar replacement on the market -- stevia, monk fruit, sucralose, chicory root fiber, etc. It was tough, because I found that some things tasted like chemicals, while others seemed to throw me out of ketosis. After some time, I came across allulose. It appeared to be the perfect sugar substitute; it was sweet, had a full flavor, no aftertaste, and had no impact on my glycemic index. 

I prefer to use syrups instead of powders because it’s easier to quickly mix with liquids, works better when I’m making protein bars, sauces and dressings, and you can add flavoring to it, replicating maple syrup and more. Of course, there are dozens of other uses for it too! When trying to find a high quality, bulk source of allulose syrup, I struggled. It seemed to me that the only products available were in small squeeze bottles, and I’d have to use half of one in a single cookie recipe. 

I also began to see the ingredients in nutrition panels for my favorite products -- from cereal, to nutrition bars, to yogurts and sports drinks. That’s when I noticed another product mentioned in nutritional information for these products: prebiotic tapioca fiber (also commonly called soluble corn fiber). Prebiotic tapioca fiber is used commonly to boost sweetness and to bind dry ingredients, providing an excellent prebiotic fiber source. I couldn’t find it sold anywhere! Like any good child of a food entrepreneur, I approached my Dad with this information. He’d been working in the health food space for over a decade, and I knew he’d have some ideas.

From that conversation, we founded KetoGoods. We began with one goal in mind: to provide the low-carb community with clean, high-quality, non-GMO sweetening syrups that had no effect on blood sugar. We are dedicated to vetting all scientific research available about our products to confirm their status as keto-friendly. All of our products are 100% plant-based, kosher, gluten-free, and non-GMO. We also pride ourselves in offering a unique form of packaging that uses up to 30% less plastic than hard-sided jugs. 

I feel extremely fortunate to be working on this project with the help of my father, as his experience in the health food space and guidance are what brought the company to life. It’s allowed us to build such a strong relationship, and to offer something good to the world. I’ve learned so much from him, and about the multitude of benefits of low-carb diets.

As far as my keto journey goes, I have lost 30 lbs, have more energy than ever, my workouts are better, and my mind has found peace. I can’t say enough about what keto has done for me, and I’m sure it can do the same for you!
